NINNA FRAY

Ninna Fray was inspired to take up Mosaic after attending on of Emma’s courses here at Mosaic Workshop. In the early eighties she studied fashion, clothing and textiles at Art College. Later, needlepoint was something she enjoyed and the materials, texture and light translated and related so well in Mosaic.

Ninna Has found inspiration in the movement of water incorporating circles, waves and spirals and in the patterns and folds of fabric. She found the variety of materials: matt, shiny, opaque, translucent, metallic, pearlescent, bright or intense captivating in themselves.

Ninna went on to attend the mixed media course encouraging further contrast. She was spurred on by selling her first pieces of work and is currently working on a panel based on shells and coral in glazed and unglazed ceramic, vitreous glass and smalti. The possibilities are endless
