The Enterprise
Our commission to create a new mosaic for London's famous 'Enterprise' pub has gone down a treat with drinkers and mosaic-lovers alike. Now, we've received another accolade: the pub
has now changed its hanging sign to match the mosaic, using Tessa's original sketches. We hear that they may also produce t-shirts featuring the same design - watch this space.

Sponsor a tile!
Saint Mark's Hospital, Northwick Park, are using the mosaic of the lion of Saint Mark's designed by Tessa Hunkin as the basis for their new fund-raising campaign. The mosaic, which was actually commissioned and made twelve years ago, now adorns the outside of the hospital above the entrance. It is a rather bleak concrete building and the original idea was to add colour and life to the place as well as making the entrance easier to find. Over the years, however, the mosaic has become so well loved by patients and staff that it is being used, in a beautiful computerised version, as a way of raising money for the Hospital. Contributers 'buy' a tile and the proceeds go to the Appeal fund. At the launch of the scheme there was an auction for a few of the tiles and over £3,000 was collected. Saint Mark's is an internationally renowned treatment and research centre specialising in bowel and intestinal problems, and the surgeons and staff were all competing to buy the tiles around the lion's bottom.
